Description of Work:

Pacific Blue remodeled our master bath by removing walls and incorporating the bathroom, 3 closets, and part of a landing for our new bath, dressing areas and closet. The old master bathroom was totally gutted along with the closets and hallway, all walls were torn down, ceilings were changed, electrical and heating totally redone, new windows and doors installed, and all surface materials and custom cabinets. All the plumbing was done with entirely new fixtures as well as extending our ¾" pipes from downstairs which were needed for proper pressure in our new shower jets. We lined two long walls with tile pieces that were 1 foot x 3 feet each. The showroom rep told me that I would have to have extremely flat walls and an excellent tile person to be able to lay this size tile with a 1/8" grout line. The professional crew that Oren provided did exactly that, an excellent job. They also installed the Caesarstone 10' vanity counter, bathtub surround and sides, columns, parts of the shower, etc. The floor tiles are 1' x 2' laid in a pattern of Oren's recommendation. People ask me what is the floor material; they can't tell it is just tile as it looks so amazing. The shower was a bit complex but important to me. I had tried this in a home in Hawaii but I’ve been disappointed. But now it is all I wished for: all 6 jets, overhead, and handheld work wonderfully together or each individually. Oren helped us choose beautiful but highly functional hand-friendly controls for all fixtures that are a pleasure to use every day. As mentioned in other reviews, Oren's cabinetmaker is truly a gifted artisan. He worked with us on the design and allowed us to pick out each piece of wood used for the specified cabinet doors. We had a fair amount of cabinets: 10' vanity and 2 other large cabinets, including laundry pullouts and linen storage. They are precisely what we wanted and work wonderfully.

Comments:

Oren sounded too good to be true; he was better. We knew what we wanted down to the exact materials. We've remodeled other homes and knew we needed someone that produced a high quality product and that also conceptually understood what we wanted. We interviewed 5 other highly rated contractor's on Angie's list. We hired Oren because he elegantly solved a design problem that our designer and the other contractor's did not. This was a sign of things to come, which in my mind puts him a head and shoulders above the rest. Every time we were faced with an unforeseeable problem, Oren would come up with a solution that seemed as good as, if not better than, our original design. We could have written several of the previous reviews on Pacific Blue. So not to repeat, see the review of Nov 2, 2010 as it is spot on for Oren's customer service. Everything is on schedule, his employees are respectful, cleaned up totally every day and did not play music at my request. Our home is an open architectural, so we were concerned about dust going to other parts of the home. Oren sealed up 2 landings and stairways that were open to the levels below and isolated the construction site from the rest of the home and dust was not an issue. The new master suite and bath are all we had hoped for. Oren is a pleasure to be around; he is bright, creative, with a highly developed sense of personal integrity. He truly loves what he is doing and that comes out in the finished product.

Description Of Work:

Complete remodeling of kitchen and family room with demolition of existing kitchen and opening of wall into family room.

Member Comments:

Oren was fantastic to work with from start to finish. From the first day we met him, we felt confident that he shared our vision of what we wanted to do with our new kitchen and family room area. Oren’s eye for design and helpful suggestions were invaluable. While he tries to actualize your vision, he will also not let you make mistakes and is not afraid to give his opinion. After a flurry of meetings where he personally helped us pick out all aspects of the remodel (appliances, tile, cabinets, etc.) with great vendors that he had come to trust over the years, we had a plan in place that he was able to carry out in an extremely efficient manner. Our kitchen and family room area is now drop-dead gorgeous. We'll have to have him remodel the rest of the house just to keep up!

Description Of Work:

We did two projects concurrently through Pacific Blue Construction. Project #1 was a complete remodeling and reconfiguration of our powder room, including addition of a shower. The total cost was around $25K, including the fixtures and materials provided by us (such as tiles). Both design and construction were handled by Oren. Project #2 was creating a 200 sq. ft. recreation room / office space from an auxiliary garage that we had at the back of our main (detached garage), and it involved closing up the wall separating it from the main garage, opening a new window, and adding a French door overlooking our lawn. The total cost of this was around $25K including materials provided by us (tiles, windows, French door, A/C etc.). The design and construction costs for the two projects were $17K and $19K respectively. Additionally, the project also required upgrading the electrical panel from an old 125A panel to a 200A one.

Comments:

Project #1: The powder room was completely gutted, plumbing relocated and a new shower built into existing powder room. Oren was on top of the project every step of the way. The project finished ahead of schedule (in part because they worked on some of the weekends) and Oren took care of every small detail. He was on site daily. His crew was very professional. We have a wonderful new bathroom thanks to Oren's efforts. We also have had good follow-up subsequently to take care of a few minor issues, such as changing the temperature range setting in the thermostatic valve. Project #2: We had a large storage shed attached to our garage which we completely gutted and turned into a beautiful recreation room. Oren was very detail oriented. New drywall, insulation, tiling, new windows and doors were all taken care of by Oren in a very professional manner. What impressed us most was that Oren was always prepared to work with us on suggesting options and keeping a completely open mind to our suggestions. Oren modified his schedule to meet with us at odd hours and we always felt that we got his complete, undivided attention. This was our first experience with remodeling. Originally we had started with another construction company, but after spending $1.7K on the design phase and preliminary preparation, decided to stop work as the whole interaction was extremely frustrating with ever-shifting cost projections and designs. Working with Oren by contrast has been very good, and we liked particularly how he guided us through the process, and explaining upfront how the complex trade-offs across construction, and material cost play out for different design options. Most importantly, we liked his sense of design, and what would look good and fit with the character of our house. Incidentally, his approach is to set a construction date only after all the important items have arrived and been verified to his satisfaction. While this does mean that one has to store the items in the garage, the advantage is that the construction moves through without hiccups. We liked working with Oren, and will definitely recommend him and use him again. In fact, we have just started on the next project in our grand remodeling plan: remodeling our daughter's bath, and remodeling and significantly reconfiguring and expanding the master bath. We are still in the design phase and ordering various fixtures etc., but working with Oren thus far on this new project has also been smooth. We hope to start construction in January, and will report back after we're done.

Description Of Work:

Kitchen was remodeled. We had all old cabinets removed and replaced with new custom cabinets. Custom glass doors were created for two sets of cabinets. New door and garden window were installed. Interior non weight bearing wall was removed. New recessed lights were installed in ceiling. New exhaust port for stove top hood was installed into ceiling. New plumbing and electrical (including new sub panel) was installed for fixtures and appliances. New granite counter tops. Faux painted walls. Washer and dryer were relocated from kitchen area to the garage which included installing a drain and adding a door from the interior of the house to the garage.

Comments:

Before I tell you our story. I want to tell you what you will get in terms of customer service from Oren. 1. You will think you are his only customer (you're not). 2. You will know where you are in the project at all time. Oren is an excellent communicator and keeps you posted. But he can't spell worth a d***. Sorry Oren :) 3. You will see Oren on your job site almost every day. 4. His crews are courteous and care about your home. 5. When any one thing goes wrong (and if you think they don't during these kinds of projects then you're a fool) he will fix them with no hassle. 6. Oren has a very good eye for design and can come up with creative solutions for you. We didn't need an interior designer because Oren is that good at coming up with kitchen designs. So we decided to remodel our kitchen back in March of this year. We met with a four contractors to bid out our project. Oren's bid fell within line of what we thought we would pay. Oren insists on meeting several times to insure that he and you understand exactly what you want before he will submit a written bid. This may seem strange when pricing out your project, but you will get a price that you can sign on and go from there. And our multiple meetings worked to our advantage. My wife and I insisted to Oren that we were going to keep our washer/dryer right where it was and not move it when we were planning the kitchen. But Oren convinced us that since we weren't planning on moving anytime soon and that this was last kitchen we are going to do in this house to think of this long term. Turns out he was right. So we planned a separate project to move the washer and dryer first. They framed in a door in a small bedroom that's attached to our garage so we can stay inside to get to the washer and dryer. He had his plumber come out and add hookups and put in a drain. This all took just a few days to complete. Once it was done and finished we loved it and to be honest it seemed like it should've always been this way. On to the kitchen. We met some more to pick out the style of the cabinets. After we got our CAD drawings and signed off on everything (about 4 weeks) we started to get going on picking out fixtures, granite, and appliances. Oren recommended some vendors to use and we went with them. We found our granite and Oren met us to make sure that the slabs were good and would work for the style that we wanted. His fabricator picked them up and held them until they were ready for installation. Oren worked with all of our vendors for delivery of items and took care of it for us. Since we were not moving out of our house during construction we had to relocate our kitchen to the middle of the house. We have an open floor plan so Oren had to use plastic sheeting to block off the kitchen to minimize the dust. They also covered everything in plastic. It worked out pretty well. You just can't stop all dust, but by and large we were fine. So we camped for the summer. Oren said it would take 4-6 weeks to complete. It took more like 8, however, after 6 weeks were living in the house again and could start using the kitchen. After demolition of our cabinets they started the plumbing and electrical rough in. That went fine and was on schedule. They had to put in a sub panel on the other side of the house to handle the electrical that we needed. That is great because our old Mickey Mouse electrical would trip a circuit if we wanted to run the toaster and microwave at the same time. Not anymore. We did have one plumbing problem during construction that had nothing to do with Oren. We had a leak in one of the pipes that ran outside our house and under the ground and then back into the kitchen to supply water for the sink. It's setup this way due to our slab foundation. So I was hearing this hissing noise. At first I thought it was the gas line since it runs right by where I was hearing it where the old washer/dryer were located. But then I was sure it must be water running in the pipes. I asked Oren to get his plumber and see if they could figure it out. Well they couldn't locate the leak, but he knew a company that could. He called them out and they found the leak in the pipes that were buried under ground. They repaired if for us. That was very helpful and beyond the scope of our job. Bur Oren just took charge and fixed it for us. After the electrical and plumbing were done. We got a new door and bay window. They were installed. The only problem was, it was the wrong door. The door company gave Oren the wrong door to install. Oren said don't worry he'll take care of it. And of course he did. We kept the wrong door for a couple of weeks until the new door (which was an upgrade from another company at no extra charge) arrived. Once the cabinet boxes were built we went to the cabinet shop for final approval. They laid out the cabinets in the same way as they would be in the kitchen. It was pretty cool to see that way. They looked great. Or as good as unfinished boxes can with the drawers installed but no doors. The crew brought in the box for the cabinets and got them installed. They come unfinished and get stained on the job site. The doors are stained in the shop. They install them, get the door in and everything leveled then take the doors off for staining. The granite was installed after that. We had to get 3 slabs of granite because we had a very large peninsula with seating for 7 around it installed. Oren came up with the fabricator the best way to match the slabs together so they all look like one piece. It came out beautifully. The tile installer came out next and put in the back splash and that was great. We have some exposed posts in our house holding up the ceiling so we had them wrapped in the natural stone. To our mind it really brings the space together. We had a faux paint job to finish the kitchen. It was terrific. In the end, Oren delivered to us a kitchen that is better than what we thought we were going to get when we started the project. He exceeded our expectations. Is Oren the cheapest? No. He's also not the most expensive either. But you know what they say, "You get what you pay for." The quality is top notch and the customer service is excellent.

Description Of Work:

Complete remodel of a master bath and bedroom. The walls of the bedroom were smoothed out (little bumps removed), new electrical and plumbing throughout. A large walk-in shower was installed with stand alone pedestal tub and custom marble on multiple surfaces in the bath. Tile work was a little complex but turned out beautifully. Cabinetry was custom made and a new window was placed with repair of stucco and paint on the exterior of the house.

Comments:

I interviewed several contractors and picked Oren Osovski because of his excellent reviews and because he was easy going and I felt I could work with him through the project. He was patient, explained everything and gave us check points and payment dates based upon the progress of the job. We interacted on design ideas and he worked well with a designer who helped with the job. The estimate he gave us was realistic and he stuck with it. He checked in frequently and was at the site daily to check on progress. His workers were very professional and everything was done to code. He interacted with the building inspector. He started the job only after all materials were ready to go to minimize the time of the job. Any delays were due to us, not Oren. We plan on using Oren for any future jobs and I would recommend him without hesitation.

Description Of Work:

Extensive remodel of downstairs area, including floor leveling, drywall, brick installation on walls and fireplace, sanding, priming, painting, closet remodel, roof extension, electrical, installation of stairs.

Comments:

We had Oren return to work his magic on our house -- this time for the downstairs. Once again, he exhibited his two most essential traits -- a thoughtful and caring personality, and performing the work as if the house were his own. In one example, after meticulously sanding and priming all the walls for painting, we then found hundreds of pencil marks and circles -- and later learned those were small imperfections Oren had highlighted for his workers to correct (we couldn’t see the imperfections, by the way). In fact, several walls and one ceiling were completely replaced in order to comply with his standards. When it came time for painting, we were unsure of what colors to choose so Oren walked us through the process and made terrific suggestions. Now having the entire downstairs completed, the space has been utterly transformed. Several people have insisted that it can’t be the same space as before. We admire the craftsmanship daily and it gives us great pleasure to walk around and notice all the detail that Oren puts into his work. Before starting this new phase of our job, Oren sat down with us to discuss design ideas. It was very important to him that the end result make sense for the house, fit our needs, and be of high quality. His design process weds the eye of an interior designer with someone who thinks as if the house were his own. Throughout the process, Oren kept in constant communication with us, sometimes daily. He called to update us on work completed that day, to go over details, make decisions, or to see if we’re happy with the progress -- even sending pictures to us while we’re at work. Oren’s workers are phenomenal. They take great care and their work reflects significant craftsmanship and attention to detail. They are consistently courteous and knowledgeable. They also keep the work area clean and organized, and are so quiet that even the neighbors comment on how they never hear any noise coming from our house. They are all great guys, always smiling, and whenever a job is completed, we are sad to see them go. We have several future phases for our house remodel and they all have one thing in common: Oren

Description Of Work:

Oren Osovski, the owner of Pacific Blue Construction, designed, built, and installed a new, drought-tolerant, zen-like garden. After hearing my general ideas, he created the concept, drew the design plans, consulted on plant selection and supervised the installation. He came up with a design that far exceeded my expectations. Key features of the garden include: a layout which includes a walking, or meditation, path; a landscape that varies in height; beautiful succulent plants, strategically placed in a subtle design; incorporation of two existing mature trees, a decomposed granite path that is economical and maintenance free; wood borders in an artistic pattern; and a pomegranate tree as a special focal point.

Comments:

Oren had previously remodeled our kitchen and bathrooms. When I found out about his professional training and experience in landscape design, I asked him to come up with a creative solution to a part of our yard that had been sadly neglected. It had to be drought tolerant and compatible with the rest of the backyard (a deck and a patio surrounded by plants.) We had several design appointments. Oren was generous with his time and offered several options for layout and plant selection. He took me on field trips to nurseries so that my preferences could influence his extensive knowledge of plants. He understood my financial constraints and provided a budget up-front. Once the key decisions were made, Oren moved very quickly from design to completion. I have to say that the process was actually fun! Although I relied on Oren's extensive expertise, we collaborated on all decisions, so that I can invite friends to "my" garden. And when people visit my garden they seem to appreciate all the aspects that I love.

Description Of Work:

Complete redesign and remodel of master bath, cosmetic upgrade of guest bath. Included total redesign of master bath, demo, tile floor, walk-in shower, custom vanities and medicine cabinets, sinks, fixtures, countertops, lighting, toilets, paint, move and replace window.

Member Comments:

The layout of our master bath didn’t fit our needs, and we were looking for a solution. Pacific Blue had done an excellent job on our kitchen, so we met with Oren Osovski, the owner, to create a design and layout based on our needs. Oren spent a considerable amount of time with us working on the layout and choosing finishes. The changes to the master bath included designing and building a large, walk-in shower with his and hers shower areas and a custom bench. We worked with Oren’s custom-built cabinet maker who provided custom vanities and medicine cabinets. The cabinetmaker's work was not much more than premade cabinets and was much more elegant. Also, he made optimal use of the space available. Oren designed a unique, custom shampoo box/wall insert, lining the box to coordinate with the shower floor. That floor is a very attractive and practical pebble design located by Oren when I was unable to find anything on my own. The textured design features a non-slip quality. The shower has an in-home spa feeling that delights me every day. We also added a new toilet, tile floor, designer fixtures and moved the window. The bathroom remodel was accompanied by an upgrade to the master bedroom. Oren had our walk-in closet customized to maximize the space and convenience. He also installed recessed lights, a new central fixture and a new paint job. Oren suggested that we update our guest bath at minimal cost using the same design elements from the master. This update included new tile floor, new custom vanity and medicine cabinets, new toilet and new plumbing fixtures. The entire job went smoothly. Oren’s subs were on time, skilled, trustworthy, and cleaned up each night. They were the same crew who worked on our kitchen, not day-workers. They understand the quality that Oren provides his customers and produce accordingly. Oren’s attention to details and commitment to quality exceeded our expectations for the project. He handled city inspections with no problems. He held to a reasonable timeline. He would not start the project until all materials were delivered and ready. There were two things that made the remodel a good experience for us. One is that Oren made moving out of the master suite as comfortable as possible. He set up a temporary master bedroom in our living room. It was quite comfortable and had the feel of a nice hotel room. He also finished the master bath before starting the guest bath. Both of these made it possible to stay in our home and saved us the cost of moving out during the remodel. Oren is a remarkable man. His attention to his customer's desires and his professionalism set him apart from other contractors. He is a problem solver and gives attention to details. He takes pride in his work. He is very serious about his work and, at the same time, has a sunny disposition that makes him a joy to be around. No, he is not a family member, but we would be happy to have him in our extended family.

Description Of Work:

Gut and remodel 1 bathroom; refurbish 2 additional bathrooms.

Comments:

Oren (owner of Pacific Blue) responded to our initial inquiry promptly, and met us at our house the next day, on time. He explained our options clearly and his knowledge was evident. As we talked about the project, he suggested things that cost us less, but would work better than our initial ideas. Instead of a hard sell, Oren gave us a list of previous customers where we could see his completed work. One was nearby and we were quite impressed with what we saw. The customers were quite happy and the work was first rate. Pacific Blue provides only construction design, labor and basic construction materials (paint, wallboard, etc), not tile and fixtures. Oren does not want to choose patterns, colors, furniture and so forth -- this he leaves to the customer with some suggestions, such as a tile store that he works closely with. He will also counsel his customers about materials, prices and vendors. He wants most of the materials purchased and delivered before he starts, so that his folks aren't left hanging because the shower fixtures haven't arrived. This process will take about a month. Our project was done in stages, since we would have all 3 bathrooms out of commission at some point or other. So we did the refurbishments first. Two bathrooms had their flooring and fixtures removed, paint stripped and walls sanded. All tile was left in place, as were the shower, tub and vanities. Underfloor wood was checked for rot and a few places were patched (part of deal). New vent fans installed, new lighting and fixtures. Walls re-mudded and painted. All wood work repainted, new mirror hung, some wood in built-in vanities replaced at extra charge. His workers were at all times professional, clean and respectful of the house. Duration: about 8 days, working 6 days a week. The big job involved utterly gutting one bathroom down to the studs. A non-supporting wall (and closet) was removed to create more space in the bathroom. The floor was removed and rebuilt, and all the room's plumbing was replaced. A modern shower was built, with several shower heads, tile walls, wall boxes, seat and semi-frameless glass enclosure. New toilet, vanity, mirrors, fixtures, floor tile, fan/vent, lighting and electrical. Recessed medicine cabinet added. This part of the project took about 3 weeks. All project items were permitted and passed inspection. Two minor items required fixing afterwards, and Oren's people came and did the fixes quickly and without issue. From contract signing, though our tile/fixture/vanity search to the final inspection sign-off took about 2 months. At no time, however, did we feel occupied, abandoned or anything but in good hands. You hear all kinds of horror stories about remodel projects, but Pacific Blue isn't one of them. It has been nearly a year now, and I'm as happy with the work as I was when it finished. We recommend Oren and Pacific Blue to anyone without reservation.

Description Of Work:

Renovated kitchen and two bathrooms. Fixed ceiling cracks, replaced floor molding and painted living room, dining room, hall and master bedroom. Created a walk-in closet. Painted exterior of the house.

Comments:

Oren is absolutely terrific. At first I thought the reviews were too good to be true. After working with him for the last ten months I now believe they don't go far enough! I interviewed over a dozen contractors before selecting Oren and Pacific Blue. I decided to work with him because he wanted to approach the work the way I did, that is, all major decisions (cabinets, appliances, windows etc) should be made and purchased before demolition so that once the project starts there are no delays. He completed a major renovation of my fifty year old, 2500 square foot house (only two rooms untouched) in three months exactly. From the start of the planning to the final days, Oren was consistently calm and a pleasure to work with. All the workers that he brought to the house were there every day of the construction (including Saturdays). They did superb work and were always pleasant and professional. The cabinet maker and stone fabricator he works with are also exceptional. Oren's recommendations of vendors and sales people were all excellent. They were extremely helpful and went way beyond what I expected in support. Oren and I met once a week for about five months before beginning the work. That patient planning really paid off once the work began and it certainly lowered the amount of stress that such a large renovation would normally cause. Oren called daily to let me know how things were going and was very conscientious about having me stop by the house when there were decisions to be made. He was also sensitive to the fact that my own job is quite demanding and he was careful not to waste my time but kept everything organized so that I did not have to make unnecessary trips to the house. Oren is very cost conscious but he understands that good workmanship sometimes costs more and he is willing to pay the extra price to have the job done well. He became so invested in the work that he took extra time to go to distant slab yards with me to help me find just the right piece of granite/marble for the counter tops. His design 'eye' is excellent and I learned to rely on his taste. Whenever we disagreed he would make a 'mock-up' to show me what I was asking for to make sure that it was really what I wanted and that I would not be unhappy with the result. He never ran out of patience with me - even when I had him try about 15 different paint swatches to find just the right 'off white' for the living room/dining room area. The house is beautiful - with a lot of small touches and details that are a result of Oren's care and craft. I cannot imagine being happier with the result. I wanted to find a contractor that I both liked and trusted - I feel very lucky to have found Oren. I highly recommend him.

Oren is the best. I went through several contractors before finding Oren, and I worked directly with a number of subs on various specific tasks. Oren's work and professionalism can't be matched. He's a true find. Two of his most essential traits -- a thoughtful and caring personality, and he does the work as if the house were his own. He has creative solutions and a long-term vision (even when this meant less near-term work for him). Throughout our 5-month project, he consistently gave me peace of mind that everything was being done correctly, thoughtfully and expertly. Oren knew exactly what work was going on each day, and communicated with me almost daily on progress and next steps. His workers arrived every day, on time, and took measures to work as quietly as possible. Even our neighbors never had a complaint. Oren is obsessive about neatness, and each day his team would completely clean the areas they had been working. Everyone was friendly, professional and reliable. Oren's attention to detail is also exceptional (tiles align, corners are square, everything fits, nothing is loose). He even found time for special touches and extras I never expected but greatly appreciate. Oren kept to our budget and was diligent about signing off on payments, planning next steps, etc. He made a folder for me containing contracts, milestones, payments, etc., and made sure it all remained current and accurate. Oren not only did our project exceptionally well, it was fun and enjoyable. We love the result, and we loved getting there. Oren's our guy and I recommend him highly.

We are thrilled with the bathroom remodeling job that Pacific Blue Construction did for us. The entire process was smooth, on time, and on budget, and Oren was terrific to work with, as were his entire crew. We did a total makeover of our master bathroom, and Oren helped us through the whole process of making choices on tiles, fixtures, plumbing, etc. He has a wonderful sense of what works and what will look beautiful, and was always patient and sensitive to our thoughts and concerns and needs. Oren has a design background, so he has great ideas, and was totally collaborative and respectful from the planning stage to the final, gorgeous result. Oren’s method is to first gather all of the materials needed, then begin the remodel; this way, the project can go forward without any annoying delays. This approach minimizes any upheaval in your household during remodeling. The workmen at Pacific Blue are not only talented (and very nice), they are also committed to doing everything the best way possible. The care they took in cutting the tile precisely, laying it all out in a lovely design, and putting the finishing touches on their work was fantastic. They removed two old cabinets from inside the bathroom and in the hallway, and when they were done there was no trace that anything had been there; they are perfectionists when it comes to creating new surfaces and painting them just right. They also were always ready to help us with little things in other areas of the house that we wanted fixed or ‘tweaked;” we’d ask them to do something, and it was done in a flash. We will most definitely use Pacific Blue for our next remodeling project, because the whole experience was the complete opposite of the kind of “nightmare” remodel that we all hear about. Oren and his crew made this a truly happy and fun experience, and now we get to enjoy the wonderful results! You will be very glad that you chose this excellent company.

General remodel of a number of areas in our house. Full house interior painting, kitchen lighting upgrade w/ recessed lighting on three-way dimmer switches, other lighting upgrades, new flooring in utility room, new window installation in bay window, new shower door in bath.

Comments:

Oren exceeded all of our expectations! We asked him to do several renovation jobs in one (including painting every room in our house, installing many light fixtures, curtain rods, shower door etc). Oren did the work in a short period of time and completely on schedule and budget…in fact he finished a bit early – and everything was beyond perfect! He definitely has an eye for aesthetics and was able to make many helpful suggestions that made the house look even better. The remodel looks truly amazing. Oren has worked on two jobs for us now and we have found him to be very easy to work with, trustworthy, and he adds value to our projects through his suggestions. For example, he suggested a specific window type for our replacement of a bay window that had an excellent feature set for our needs - opening from both top and bottom and with backup safety latches to allow keeping the window slightly open. On both jobs Oren kept tightly to his promised budget and even went above and beyond on several things - if he sees an opportunity to do a bit more to make the project more successful he does it and happily keeps to his original cost commitment. Oren is dedicated to walking customers through the process and making sure they understand and are comfortable with the scope and costs.

Description Of Work:

Our kitchen was completely demolished and remodeled, maintaining the footprint for the most part. Tile floor, cabinets, walls and most appliances were replaced. New wallboard and plastering were done to correct irregularities where walls were out of plumb. The floor was leveled one tile at a time, including the tile in the adjoining foyer. New tile flooring, custom cabinets, Caesar stone counters, hand painted back splash tiles, appliances, lighting, hardware and paint were all done. Electrical and plumbing adjustments were also necessary, and we like the work so much we had some additional electrical panel upgrading done, along with finishing off a pool cabana.

Comments:

Everything went very smoothly, and the job was finished on time (5 weeks) and on budget. We met with Oren Osovski, the owner, about a month prior to starting, to discuss the project and eventually review his proposal. We then spent a few weeks figuring out exactly what we wanted to do and finalizing the plans. We met with several contractors, but liked Oren's cheerful personality (he laughed at my husband's sense of humor, what more could we ask for?), attention to detail and straightforward explanation of how things would work. His references were stellar and, in fact, one referenced homeowner said she would happily adopt him. We got along very well, and joke that he misses us now that it's done. Cost always has to be a factor, but once you know what you want, there's really not a huge difference with the better contractors. His proposal was well within reasonable, and it came down to trust, references and personality for us--overall comfort level. Detailed plans were drawn up and signed, with every detail included and signed off on as well, so that we didn't have to worry about surprises. Everything was ordered prior to demolition, at Oren's insistence, so that we wouldn't have delays waiting for materials to arrive, and that proved to be a key to everything coming together smoothly. Not only did Oren spend a great deal of time with us on the planning, he went along to help select tile, and worked with us when our initial choice for a back splash proved too problematic. He supervised his crew every day, usually coming by at the beginning and end of every day to make sure everything was proceeding smoothly. Like Oren, his crew was great--very polite, respectful of the house and our privacy, and very diligent and skilled. They cleaned up every day and kept the mess under control as much as possible. Many of our friends laughed when we said we couldn't believe how well everything was going ("just wait" is the common refrain), and again, when we said that after the demo, we felt the worst was over. In reality, after the demo, things were actually fun--everything went smoothly and we enjoyed watching our great new kitchen unfold a day at a time. We are completely comfortable recommending Pacific Blue and hope Oren continues having the success he deserves. Oren is definitely the best contractor we've every worked with, and we've been homeowners for over 25 years.

Description Of Work:

Contracted for a complete remodeling of the kitchen in a large 3400sf. luxury home. This required a complete demolition and haul away of the existing kitchen. After this was done it became apparent that a new floor was appropriate. Contractor provided this via extra work order. Contractor met or exceeded the construction time schedule. His attention to detail and overall professionalism was outstanding and consistent with my past experience with this contractor. This is a "galley" type kitchen. Installation of imported "Santa Cecilia" granite countertop, Italian range, and custom cabinets through out. Installed recessed ceiling lighting enhances the entire room. And to top it off, the layout and construction of the ceiling moldings is just awesome. See attached pictures.

Comments:

From start to finish this project went smooth as silk. I cannot imagine that the project could have been done any better and has added thousands of dollars to the overall value of the house.

Description Of Work:

A 1950's bathroom and walk in closet were gutted and transformed into 2 bathrooms: a guest bath with tub/shower combination and a master bathroom with a spa shower. New walls and a closet were built. 2 windows were framed and installed. Every bit of plumbing was relocated. Two bedrooms were painted and crown molding added.

Comments:

We asked Oren of Pacific Blue Construction to bid on the project because of the positive comments and revues. We chose him to build our bathrooms after getting a competitive bid, visiting a few of his completed renovations and continuing to get rave reviews from his clients. Oren and his guys did not disappoint. In our first meeting with Oren we gave him a plan and talked about our goals. He came back the following week with a few suggestions to the design, we agreed on price, and scheduled the work to begin the next month to allow time to shop for and receive products. He will not begin a remodel unless the essentials are available. Oren is excellent at time management. He was never late to an appointment. He answered calls and e mails promptly. He made it a point to give us daily progress reports as well as notice of what to expect the next day. Although by nature remodeling is disruptive, the crew made it a point to finish as quickly as possible. They never missed a day and often worked 6 days a week. There were no up charges to the work that we agreed upon. When I thought some tiling needed to be altered Oren didn't argue. When we thought the closet opening was too narrow, he changed it the next day. He made it a priority to give us what was important to us. Oren cares about what the client thinks and takes pride in the work that he is able to provide. In the end, we are happy with our bathrooms and have a contractor we trust.

Better than we ever could have imagined. Oren Osovski with Pacific Blue had done an outstanding job for my mother remodeling her kitchen and dinning room area. We could not believe he did the job on time and within budget at such a high quality, so we decided to talk with him about the possibility of redoing our shower. He came to the house for an estimate and talked with us for almost 2 hours about the shower and some "pie-in-the-sky" ideas we had about redoing the master bathroom to include a walk-in closet. He patiently took us through the options. He gave suggestions that were very helpful, but he also responded to our expressed preferences. He came back to the house a few more times to talk further with us about options, prepare multiple drawings, and give us a quote. Although he was very attentive, he was not pushy, which was a welcome relief. We felt very confident that Oren could do the job, so we retained him. We mutually agreed on a timetable that worked for us. He promptly gave us a list of the materials we would need to get on our own, including precise quantities of tile and recommendations for fixtures, but offered to pick-up anything we wanted him to get for us. On the first day of the job, his team showed up early and he was right on time. Although we were pleased that he and his team were on time, we were not surprised because he had been prompt for every meeting we had scheduled. Within the first day, the demolition was completed, but only after they carefully covered existing flooring and furniture. Oren and his team were very professional and extremely efficient. Each step along the way, Oren checked in with us to make sure we knew what was happening and that we were satisfied with the work. He also made sure we understood the timetable so that we could secure the materials in time for installation. Oren was at the house every day where he spoke with my wife. He also called me or was available to talk by phone every day I tried to reach him. He recommended and coordinated multiple vendors who were highly skilled and professional. The prices charged by the vendors was reasonable and the work was excellent. We had some other problems arise during the work that were unrelated to the remodel, including a leaking pipe and a broken toilet in the other bathrooms. Oren got his vendors and his team to resolve those problems at minimal cost. He also managed to come up with a creative solution to a pipe routing issue that resulted from our decision to go with a double sink. We are thrilled that the project was completed within budget and almost one week early. We cannot recommend Oren and Pacific Blue highly enough. We already have told friends of ours to use Oren for any remodeling project they may have. He is fully committed to customer satisfaction. He went out of his way to make sure the project was satisfactory and that we were aware of everything along the way.

Description Of Work:

My master bathroom was demolished and remodeled. Included in this process was the rebuilding of the sub-floor and the shower floor, installation of a pocket door and all new fixtures, tile, and related items. In addition, the water heater was replaced and repairs were made to another toilet.

Comments:

Of all the remodel jobs I have undertaken, this one surpasses every one. Never before have I worked with a man like Oren. He exhibited the highest levels of professionalism and commitment to this job and made a tolerable and enjoyable experience out of what could have been a struggle. I had called several other contractors before meeting Oren. None impressed me. However, from the first meeting with Oren, I recognized that he was the one. He came back two more times after our initial meeting. On the final one, we signed the papers and began the process. Because of a time limitation, we immediately moved on the project. Within two weeks, I had purchased all the necessary items, changed my original ideas to the final ones, and began destruction. During the next three weeks, the project unfolded along with additions made to the original plans for the construction. They are always there, the "might as wells." He followed through with every request in a timely manner. My requirement for good communication was honored; Oren never failed me. Oren always showed up when he said and called frequently. Regarding Oren's employees, each one showed consideration and respect for my home, premises, and requests. I cannot give Oren enough compliments for who he is and what he does each day. He is a fine man. He started as my contractor and he became my friend. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Give Oren a call. I promise you that you will be impressed with the quality of the person and the work!

Description Of Work:

Total remodel of kitchen. Included demolition, close-up two windows and create a new, larger window; construct new custom cherry cabinets, install designer back splash, install new wood floors, install all new appliances, new plumbing, lighting and electric. Oren, the general contractor, also provided creative and practical design consultations.

Comments:

I chose Pacific Blue Construction from Angie's List after 9 months of interviewing contractors, none of whom seemed right for our job. Oren was different from the other contractors. He is the owner of the company, not a sales representative or project manager. He is licensed under his own name and takes pride in making his clients extremely satisfied. He did not rush us to sign a contract right away, but waited until we had agreed on what we wanted and what he would do. He listened carefully to our ideas and concerns and took time to truly understand what we wanted in our new kitchen. I call Oren "the Contractor from Heaven" (as opposed to the "Contractor from *explicit*".) The following items are examples of why we were so pleased with the services of Pacific Blue and Oren Osovski: Finished ON TIME and ON BUDGET as promised. High quality workmanship. Outstanding sub-contractors who worked for Oren regularly. Oren and his subs showed up for every scheduled appointment. Oren checked on progress regularly and was on-site frequently. When he wasn't on-site, he checked in by phone. He anticipated situations so there were no big surprises. He promised to handle any unexpected situations effectively and did so. He offered design suggestions, many of which we took, including new floors, new window, and back splash design. When I had trouble finding items like countertops and back splash, he took me to places where I could find what I wanted. Oren is personable and professional. He made the process as painless as possible. He provided attention to details that distinguishes an outstanding remodel from a good remodel. All in all, he greatly exceeded our expectations.

Approximate Cost: $40,000.00

Description Of Work:

Complete kitchen remodel, including new cabinets, granite countertops, hardwood floors throughout the condo and a bathroom remodel as well. The kitchen included rewiring all electric, moving gas lines and appliance locations.

Comments:

AWESOME!! Any expectation I had was completely blown away! I do not live in the condo and I'm having work done as I live in Phoenix. I never had to worry about anything; I was completely kept up to date on everything that was happening, when it would happen and what to expect when I did go back to the condo. I had had 2 previous horrendous experiences with contractors, so I was incredibly nervous and skeptical -- I would use Pacific Blue for every project!!! Just awesome to work with!!! Thank you Oren!
